Prompt Like a Pro: The Art of Asking Better Questions in an AI World
Because what you ask is everything.
In a world where AI can do almost anything, the real superpower isn’t knowing the answers—it’s asking better questions.
Welcome to the era of strategic prompting.
If ChatGPT, Claude, or NotebookLM feel hit or miss to you, it’s probably not the tool—it’s the prompt.
Think of AI not as a search engine, but as a high-performance thought partner. It responds to clarity, context, and structure. And just like a great team member, it thrives when expectations are clear.
🦸🏽♀️ Introducing: The “Super Prompt” Movement
There’s a new wave of power users in the AI space—and they’re not engineers. They’re operators, marketers, creators, founders, and leaders who’ve mastered the art of the structured prompt.
You may have seen a few flying around LinkedIn:
R.A.C.E, C.A.R.E, T.R.A.C.E…
They’re catchy for a reason: they work.
💡 Why This Matters
Prompting isn’t just a hack.
It’s a way to design your thinking—to train AI to collaborate, simulate, and expand ideas at scale.
When you start treating prompts like a leadership discipline (not just a tool tip), everything changes:
Your ideas get sharper
Your teams move faster
Your output becomes higher-quality, more on-brand, and more intentional
🌟 The F.A.S.T. Framework (my favorite for business leaders)
Here’s one I’ve been using with my teams to drive clarity and creativity:
F.A.S.T.
F | Function – Define your role (or the AI’s). Are you a strategist? A marketer? A product designer? A coach?
A | Ask – State your core question or problem. What are you trying to explore or solve?
S | Signal – Provide context or relevant inputs. The more grounding, the better the output.
T | Target – Describe what a great response looks like. Be explicit about tone, format, or structure.
Example:
You are a product innovation strategist. I want help brainstorming new skincare formats for Gen Z. Here’s what we’ve launched this year [insert data]. Show me 5 ideas, each with product name, format, and social-first marketing hook. Make it bold, fun, and rooted in trend data.
🔢 9 More Proven Prompt Frameworks
Use these as mental models to sharpen your prompts:
A.P.E – Action | Purpose | Expectation
T.A.G – Task | Action | Goal
E.R.A – Expectation | Role | Action
R.A.C.E – Role | Action | Context | Expectation
R.I.S.E – Request | Input | Scenario | Expectation
C.A.R.E – Context | Action | Result | Example
C.O.A.S.T – Context | Objective | Actions | Steps | Task
T.R.A.C.E – Task | Role | Action | Context | Expectation
R.O.S.E.S – Role | Objective | Steps | Expected Solution | Scenario
Choose your vibe. Combine them. Make them your own.
🧠 Bonus: Try the Superhero Prompt
🎭 Have you tried turning yourself into an AI-generated superhero?
If not, do it. It’s fun and revealing.
Here’s the prompt:
“Create a superhero version of me. I’m [insert your role/interests]. My superpowers are [list 3 skills or qualities]. Describe my name, powers, costume, catchphrase, and what I protect the world from. Make it inspiring, creative, and worthy of a comic book cover.”
⚡It’s part reflection, part rebranding. And honestly? A creativity unlock.
🧪 Prompt Challenge of the Week:
“Act as my AI thought partner. I’m exploring how to use AI in [insert your role]. Ask me five sharp, unconventional questions that will challenge how I think about AI’s role in my work.”
👇 Try it. Then comment below:
What question hit hardest? What insight surfaced?
